Hello all! I won this coin and I’m having trouble finding much info about it. I know it is a pattern version and a bit smaller than the regular issue. NGC cert says 2 in 64 with one higher, that being a 65. I’ve searched acs and can not find an individual sell of this issue except my own. Any ideas on mintage or how significant the Prova is with this issue?
Numista lists a trial piece from 1938 but can find nothing for 1936. Thanks in advance for anyone’s help!
a great buy at 325. These I think, were issued every year but I don't know why. Usually sells for way more than that. In the 2008 sale at Bowers the Carl Chirco Collection the three coin set s sold for over $2200 without the 15% at the time. I had one of these in my collection the Meduno Collection at Heritage in 2023 and I know I got more than 325. As I said I'm sure that they issued them every year but you could check Pagani Prova book for the answer
It's listed on NGC. It says 5000 minted. VF $125 XF $200 MS60 $425 https://www.ngccoin.com/price-guide/world/san-marino-20-lire-km-11-1931-1936-cuid-1090347-duid-1528774
PS. Not the regular issue as previous poster pointed out. I’ll be very happy to buy at the price in ngc
Does that PAG on the slab mean pattern? They should just spell it out for us morons instead of us expecting to know all of their brilliant short cuts. Coin looks the same. What's the difference between the pattern and the regular issue?
Right? Haha I agree! The difference between the regular issue and the PROVA are size( the Prova example weighs less and is smaller) and on the reverse it has "PROVA" just to the left of the feathers which is not on the regular issue.
