Created this thread so we could highlight newer silver coins that are not regularly produced and might have interest to some. Here's one I bought, it was OOS for a while and now apparently it's back in stock. Not a coin you buy to make $$$ on (though it might appreciate and win you back the premium you paid for it) but it celebrates the 100th Anniversary of the start of World War One: http://www.ebay.com/itm/131114253442?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT MCM has a good reputation, I've bought from them a few times.
Here's someone selling the Enhanced Proof and Reverse Proof 2013 ASE at a competitive price with what I bought a few days ago at a coin show: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2013-W-SILV...98546?pt=US_Bullion_Coins&hash=item234904acf2 Again, big premium to silver content but the coins really stand out. Love the look of the ASE Reverse Proof, more so than on the gold which doesn't appeal to me as much.
Wow, this thread from 10 years ago I created. With silver now so high compared to when I created this thread....are any of YOU buying silver commemoratives or moderns ? Ironically, paying a premium might hold up better in a down market if you think silver has downside from here.
The price of silver has been a blessing to those that built collections of the dollar commemoratives. For many years they were not worth much. Most were worth less than what the mint sold them for. I'll bet some are selling these while the price is so good.
Heh. I just happened across my email archives of eBay purchases from 2010-2014. I was buying a lot of silver. I guess I'm finally no longer underwater on the 2011 stuff.
It appears the Enhanced designation began in 2019 Enhanced Reverse Proof: 2019-S Enhanced Reverse Proof Silver Eagle Released in November of 2019, the 2019-S Enhanced Reverse Proof Silver Eagle was the first time the US Mint applied this special finish to a coin, which greatly improves the visuals of the fine details of the designs. And more, this coin has the lowest mintage of all Silver Eagle variations, with only 30,000 struck
I am buying moderns but I stopped getting gold, only silver now. In the past couple months the: 250th Anni Navy ASE American Liberty Peace Proof & Uncirculated Silver Dollar Silver Proof set, and others When gold solidly went past $1500/oz I think that's when I stopped buying modern gold.
Don't you just love the defraction you get from the coin holder, or .. maybe ... it's a Printing Error !?!?
