http://www.ebay.com/itm/HIGH-GRADE-...812044?hash=item5d6d9aad8c:g:evgAAOSwt5hYeUva I don't know, but sure looks to me like a fake, or a mint set in a proof envelope. Thank everyone for their time as always!
Thanks. WOW there were some oooogly proofs in the 60's. no mirrorlike field, dings and gouges, ugh. I was thinking of buying a 1962 unopened set, but no way now. There's supposed to be a difference between proof and mint, those almost look circulated!
Looks like they put the set and envelope on a scanner. Guaranteed to bring out the very worst in your proof coins.
Alright. I may buy one after all. they're trending at $20 incl shipping. Thx y'all. I hope the scans just kill the lustre, I'll be so sad if I get a set tht looks like that.
Why bother with ebay? Your local coin shop probably has a bunch of '60s proof sets you can cherry-pick from. Coin Shows too.
True, got a 62 Proof set from my B&M a while back. Had a couple of other years of well. Sent from my ZTE B2017G using Tapatalk
I love to browse shows and shops. There are good deals to be had. Thanks for reminding me, I haven't been to a shop in awhile, don't think I ever looked at anything besides what's in the display case. Standing there looking through 50 years of proofs sounds so cool!
