PBS recently aired tow interesting episodes of their series Secrets of the Dead that you should watch, if you have not done so. The Rise & Fall of the Colosseum was aired last week: https://www.pbs.org/video/the-rise-fall-of-the-colosseum-aru7xs/ Cleopatra's Last Temple aired last night: https://www.pbs.org/wnet/secrets/preview-cleopatras-last-temple-m9lmjk/8572/ Included in this episode is a discussion of some of the coins found in the harbor of Alexandria, Egypt. Enjoy!
I pay for PBS passport, the only TV programming I will pay for. Since we cancelled Netflix and HULU I think I'll treble my contribution to PBS. I'd also recommend the programme they had recently on the excavations at Pompei, where a small coin purse with gold Aurei was found.
Oh, wow, is that series still running? I used to enjoy a lot of PBS programming back when we still had cable. I guess most of it can still be streamed, but I just don't watch TV any more. Or, to be more honest, all my TV-watching time has been taken over by doom-scrolling.
I understand. I am in the same boat. You can watch these episodes online. The one on Cleopatra VII's temple is really interesting. I didn't know that it even existed. The reconstruction of it is fascinating.
