My guess would be a rolled thin planchet.

Meow can imagine that in Meows furry head. Makes sense.

Planchet error, struck through grease, broad-struck, weak die. It's a good error coin in my opinion.

A thinner than normal planchet that was filled with grease when this coin was struck. Add to that is a zinc planchet and what you see is what you get.

    Copper plated zinc Planchet Cent.
It's a bit under weight but within tolerance.
Struck through grease but not a Broadstruck as someone mentioned. It's a Misaligned Die strike. Also not a weak die strike. You can see a bit of finning because of the normal pressure misaligned strike.

It's the edge of tolerance, probably why it skipped during strike.
Notice how grease is reserved for certain areas.

Grease strike through on a very underweight planchet. The weight is not within tolerance. Spec is 2.5 grams +/- .1 grams so low end of tolerance would be 2.4 grams. At 2.1 grams this is significantly out of tolerance.

Absolutely correct. At 2.1 it is 16% light, so way below.
