$3.5 in halves from one of my routine banks yielded zilch. On the bright side, the tellers are getting to know me, so as soon as they see me they check they're coin drawers for halves and one of them heads to the vault :shame:

    $30 taped-up halves: 3 x 40%

They had $50 in taped-up Ikes but I eyeballed a few of the "rolls" and saw all clad. May or may not go back for them.

Ha, my wife asked me to return a couple rented movies a few minutes ago. There's a bank next to the movie store. I've picked up halves in the past at this bank and NEVER found a silver coin. Tonight was different. I picked up all they had ($49.50) in halves and FINALLY scored a silver: '68D

    Sweet success! :D

Came across $47 in Ikes between 2 banks. Always like to find them but they are well loved. Had to get them just to check them for details!

My fav. bank tells me they have a $1k bag of Ikes so I go pick them up. First handful has 2 half dollars. Ok well that is weird. So, make a long story short, $912 in dollars and a BUNCH of halves. I guess they do these bags by weight so there were enough halves to get the face value up to $984.50. Not to bad, could have been a lot worse if they did it by count. And as it turned out, 3 of the halves were 40% silver. Also, 3 Am silver eagle dollars (.999 fine) and one 1976-D vI so, all in all, not bad. kept $60 to spend and put into circulation, and will put all the clad halves into circulation.
so the halves in the bag were really weird but all's well that ends well.

The last ikes I got was a pack in a few plastic red holders the CU had $100.00 and I kept a few nice ones and sold the rest on here. 4 or 5 years ago maybe I ask for large dollars but never find anymore I do know if they are put in the CU coin counter they get sent to the trash bin inside the machine. One day the teller opened the machine and the trash bin was loaded with 90% I asked if I could have the trash she said NO its full of groose stuff teeth and all kinds.I should have said that was mine I put in machine. Hind sight!!

Well paint me black and stripe me white!! Dump bank later this AM then off to get the second thousand. At least my little bank let me pick up 2 boxes @ a time. Still cant believe they make me order $2000.00 just to get some halves to search!

Softmentor, I've locally sold Ikes for $1.10 each. I sold them by the hundred to make it worth my time. Maybe you could do the same with your unwanted leftovers...easy 10% profit.
