Would this be considered Die Deterioration? Just trying to learn as I go. Date, MM and Liberty. Thanks for the help.

No, that's a mid-die state coin. This is die deterioration:

Sorry I am not familiar with that term mid-die state. Can you elaborate please.

Take a nail and a hammer. On a hard surface, or on a anvil survice. Now, beat the nail with the hammer, and observe the nail as you beat it, till you can not recognize the nail as it was. That is sort of die detonation

@Comfortably Numb, that's just circulation wear and tear. @BadThad's is what a "past-it" die striking out a copper cent looks like.

In simplest terms, there's early die state, mid die state, and late die state. And it's just what you'd expect - fresh dies, half worn out dies, and worn out dies.

Die wear, just like any form of wear is progressive. It starts when the first coin is struck and progresses, minutely, with every subsequent coin that is struck until the last coin is struck. But for purposes of simplicity those 3 terms are usually the only ones used when discussing the "state" of a die.

That was definitely some good information. Thanks everyone. It just looked almost 3D kinda cool, but not worth anything if I understand everyone correctly.
