Any Thoughts? Pretty beat up but interesting lettering

    New to "keeping an eye out for" coins. Although this nickel is kinda beat up I thought the lettering was pretty interesting. I'm unsure if this portion is an error or just damage.

    I figured so, it's like the bottom portion of the letters has been smashed, or smeared, funky haha

    It's a 1949 so it's been around for a while

    Probably damaged while on the end of a roll, by a coin rolling machine

    Is the rolling machine the reason sometimes coins have what appears to be an extra ring smaller in circumference? I see that quite abit

    Yes. The majority of those rings is due to Wrapper Crimping Machine damage. But some rings are because of Die Wear.
