Growing up in N Cali, we used to go out to the woods and have Acorn fights, teams even. The acorns we had were sometimes 2 1/2 inches long, average about an inch +, Those were good times. Must have been right after they took away our BB guns. A sled I picked up years ago to pull the kids around after a heavy snow. The snow hasn't lasted long enough since. Been hanging in the garage for 5 years.
I used to collect basketball cards and discovered that I had an "error" (the player in the photo on the front does not match the name at the bottom or the person on the other side)...apparently this is a common card.
That is strange because here in central New Jersey there were teeny tiny acorns that fell early, and that was it. There are going to be some hungry squirrels this winter.
Thanks, It was $500. We still haven't found another one like it, so we don't know if it's a $500 or $5,000 piece.
I have a small collection of match box labels (46) from Japan. They are collected mostly for their artwork. I aquired them in a purchase of very eclectic numismatic items.
Oh, man, we've been getting pelted with them here in central NC. We have a couple of oaks with branches that reach over our roof (yeah, I know we need to do something about that), and the noise of acorns hitting the roof (and rolling off) has actually woken me during the night once or twice. Guess we'll have more deer next spring. And squirrels.
