Lighthouse came out with Canadian Coin Albums, I have bought some and look at the 5 cent pages. Why would they do this:

After 1962 I just filled the rest of the holes in years order. I am going to put year stickers on the blank holes and over the dates 1963 and beyond.

Seems rather odd. Almost like they couldn't decide what they'd do next.

I can understand why. 1962 nickel is the last date of this series.

Many coin albums were designed and made in the 1960s. I see the add-ons as a lazy addition instead of redesigning the album pages.

However this can be seen as a bonus to add in duplicate coins.

Not sure I understand your comment. The nickel is still produced and circulates in Canada. The composition has changed a few times over the years but the series is still alive and well.

I don't understand why a new 21st century album would have these seemingly arbitrary end dates.

[edit] I see what you mean now, 1942, 1953, and 1965 were years the composition changed. Disregard my comments above.

It is the last year of this 12 sided shape Canadian 5 cents. From my observation, many of these albums were designed and made in the 1960s. Yes, there has been updates but many would be as "add ons".

Been designing concept albums for a while so I can understand the designer's perspective. I'd honestly like to know who I can contact to make custom albums. Logistics would be another interesting challenge...
