I noticed this while checking my change,I've never seen a cent like it.I weighed it and it's 2.1 grams.What happen to it.
A thinner than normal planchet that was filled with grease when this coin was struck. Add to that is a zinc planchet and what you see is what you get.
Copper plated zinc Planchet Cent. It's a bit under weight but within tolerance. Struck through grease but not a Broadstruck as someone mentioned. It's a Misaligned Die strike. Also not a weak die strike. You can see a bit of finning because of the normal pressure misaligned strike.
