Guys I have been wondering about the coin toning I have been seeing and hearing about lately. I have a 1979 cent (90% copper) in almost BU condition. When you look at the front it has a medium rainbow effect going on. Does this add to value or just something cool to talk about with in your collection? Eric
Definitely cool to talk about. There is a group of collectors who pay a premium for "toners". Look forward to seeing a photo.
Depends on the coin. Old coins that are really collectible adds premium, modern stuff that people dont collect nobody cares
i am not a collector of toned coins but if i get one that looks decent i put it awy as my grandchriden will get them they may or may not save tham but they may go up in value by then. as i have alot from the past 50 years of collecting
