I thought I misread the name at first. This is a surprise. Congrats on the new venture. I will be checking your store regularly.

Leads me to ask.........are you still looking at publishing that hoard from approx 2 years back? I have a couple of the coins in my collection. Phil sold them to me on a visit to the shop in 2015. You won't remember me, but we spoke about the hoard last year at Triton and the issues associated with the Syrian war and trafficking of artifacts. Now that you have taken wing, I didn't know if publishing any research is on hold or cancelled.

Good question. I have all the data from the group (photographs, weights, die axis, etc.) saved so I just have to wait until the time is right. I worked very closely with Andy Meadows on the project with lots of help from HJB staff as well. When I visited Andy at Oxford a year ago or so he told me to wait. Now especially it just doesn't seem to be the right time. The good thing is that the grunt work is done so now it is just a matter of waiting until the time is right. I definitely think it is worthwhile to put into publication though and I want to make that happen.

By the way, I probably wouldn't remember your name (I'm horrendous with them) but your face for sure if we saw one another. :)

Sorry to be the last to welcome you but the Super Bowl was too incredible to miss....

I won a nice RR denarius from HJB a couple of weeks ago and I'll be very interested to see what you may have (privately and for sale)....and totally look forward to your posts and comments!!!:)

Awesome on the coin! I collected RR primarily for my private collection but now that I need to earn a living I will start selling them. I also have some Greek coins as well and some Jakob Wiener medals. If you ever are interested I can send you an email privately.

For the stuff I bought for the business it is on my site, www.shannaschmidt.com OR vcoins under Shanna Schmidt Numismatics Inc. I sometimes have coins on vcoins that I don't put on my site.

Thanks to everyone for being so welcoming .

Yes, I'm a bit of an addict . I have some of my personal collection photographed but it doesn't seem right to post them on here since I plan to sell them. If you ever want to see any of them I'm happy to send you an email with photos separately.

I focussed mainly on Roman Republic and had just started getting more Greek coins. I found that RR coins were an easier entry into collecting based on my discretionary income. Also, being around so many coins my standards were rather high so I didn't want to own something that I wouldn't like to see often :)
