I like to watch soon ending auctions. This one smells like 2 week old fish left in the sun.
1888P Morgan, MS67. I looked, cert checks out. However, only about 80 graded this high by PCGS ever.. Suggested retail 7500. Started out as a $10 starting bid. Total scam or stolen coin?

15 minutes left to bid, current less than $400. Who wants to gamble? lol

I would be game in at that number!
I am an only in hand buyer though.

No one with any sense would put that up for auction without a reserve. It hammered for less than $600. I'd bet $600 same even money that 1) the buyer will never receive this coin 2) they may receive 1888P in circulated condition and the seller will claim it was a stock photo 3) They'll receive a fake coin in a fake slab and 4) Law enforcement has this item listed as stolen property.:D

More details, seller isn't a dealer. Only a hand full of eBay coin sales, and 2 negative reviews for not shipping gummies.:p

I've actually seen #2 happen, I was following a 1921 PCGS MS 66 coin and the buyer called them out on it, and reported it in a negative review.

It's hidden pretty well, but the seller is located in China...

    5) Hijacked account? Or stolen images? Barcode scans OK but the QR code says "bad url" for me. Don't have PCGS app though.
Yeah, I don't understand how they get two different locations (listing says Deepwater NJ) and two different seller names.

Good sleuthing! I did not catch that. Good work! I feel bad for the buyer. eBay needs to step up their quality control of their listings. Currently, they suck!

I think many of the eBay ways of doing things makes them complicit in profiting off of illegal activity.

@Jeffjay, I have already tried to advise eBay of the problem twice. Didn't get anywhere with eBay problem solvers. I'm now very careful about searching for coins through them. If the seller is not 100% and long term, I don't bother.

Jack Young (I think that's his name) is an expert in fake coins and I believe he's given up trying to get eBay to mend their ways.

I believe eBay to be complicit in both the sale of counterfeits as well as mail fraud.
