I agree, this particular dealer is known as a crook 'round here. I DID get my education from him, buying problem coins when i 1st started collecting (for retail prices) later to find out that i got taken to the cleanerz
Pretty sure we've all been through that. I got taken by a coin shop once, too. Traded about 20 circulated Morgans for a Good Capped Bust Dime and a VG Capped half dime. Back when I didn't know what anything was except that it was "cool". Ugh.
Can't stand it when a listing for a Merc says "almost full bands", or 90 percent full bands. It either is or isn't FB.
Especially in situations where that designation means a drastic difference in price- Like a 1953-s Franklin almosssst FBL!!!!
Right, and i could see if he only used that term once in a blue moon. As if he cracked the fresh original roll open personally. The thing is, he uses that to describe every single silver dollar that would/could grade @ or above MS63. Since Morgans werent issued in rolls, theres no way that every single one he got was ACTUALLY from an original roll. The probability is 0.00001 %
I know exactly what you mean, one time, I almost got scammed into buying a 1916-d Mercury with "Almost legible mint mark"
