    I think it's cool, not cringe. And the art has been around for a long time. I once dug a cutout leftover piece from a Standing Liberty quarter when I was out metal detecting.

    you have Hobo coins and everything like that too.
    I recall in cub scouts we would make trees with coins (drill a hole in it) with a toothpick and glue.
