Just purchased a large estate collection which included a complete US type set. It contained some fantastic examples of some of my favorite type coins. I’m sharing some of the best here for your enjoyment. The KY colonial was obviously not in the set but it’s beautiful nonetheless. Not sure what I’ll do with a lot of these. Keep? Grade? Sell? Who knows…
If you want to get them graded, be selective. Some would get straight grades; others will not and would be a waste of money. For example the 1812 and 1794 cents will not get a straight grade. Neither will the 1835 quarter because of damage.
I really don't know anything about any of these coins, but the 9 placement in 1794 is wild. Were the dies that whacky in the way back machine?
I've looked at a BUNCH of classic head cents over the last couple of years. I've seen many that were worse off than this 1812 that were straight graded. I think it's got a shot. Nice batch of coins!
