New to me RARE US Type Coins

Just purchased a large estate collection which included a complete US type set. It contained some fantastic examples of some of my favorite type coins. I’m sharing some of the best here for your enjoyment. The KY colonial was obviously not in the set but it’s beautiful nonetheless. Not sure what I’ll do with a lot of these. Keep? Grade? Sell? Who knows…

Love that Twenty Cent piece. Got one in change back in the early 50's.

 

If you want to get them graded, be selective. Some would get straight grades; others will not and would be a waste of money. For example the 1812 and 1794 cents will not get a straight grade. Neither will the 1835 quarter because of damage.

 

I would take that type set any day, nice pick-up!

Very nice 1804 the 1794 not to bad either. The rest are nice also. Great catch, thanks for sharing.

 

love that die crack on the reverse. Nice 1917 Quarter too!

 

What a great set of coins. I love them all, but especially the Kentucky.

I really don't know anything about any of these coins, but the 9 placement in 1794 is wild. Were the dies that whacky in the way back machine?

 

Not the dies, just the people making the coins...

 

I've looked at a BUNCH of classic head cents over the last couple of years. I've seen many that were worse off than this 1812 that were straight graded. I think it's got a shot.
