Beautiful specimen! The portrait is stunning. ACS shows 26 sales of this type sold at auctions over just the past 8 years. https://www.acsearch.info/search.ht...de=1&fr=1&it=1&es=1&ot=1¤cy=usd&order=1 RPC online cites 29 examples, and notes 11 different known obverse dies. https://rpc.ashmus.ox.ac.uk/coins/3/4069
Thank you, it was also a bargain, 5 years ago it hammered for 1400 GBP at Roma Numismatics, yesterday I won it with a bid of 480 USD!
Since I had a one time opportunity to seize a 'flagship' example and a 'rarity' as well ...I choose this multiple portrait tet. Cleopatra VII and Mark Antony.... .....
At the cgb.fr auction today I won this extremely rare (I have been able to find just 4 examples (that includes mine) in private hands, plus one in the British Museum) Indo-Greek Tetradrachm of Strato:
Seleukid Silver Tetradrachm of Antiochos II Theos (minted in Sardis sometime between 261 and 246 BCE): According to CNG, this coin is unique on account of having 2 arrows on the reverse.
Indo-Greek Silver Tetradrachm of Philoxenos Aniketos (minted sometime between 100 and 95 BCE): This is the only example in private hands, there is also one example in the British Museum: https://www.britishmuseum.org/collection/object/C_1887-0604-8
These nice tetradrachms (Nabataean standard) were not minted in Bostra. They were more likely minted in Rome for circulation in Arabia.
Etruscan Gold 25 Asses (minted in Fufluna sometime between 300 and 250 BCE): The above coin is very rare, it is also a Vecchi Plate Coin.
