Hello all! Hope all is well. :)
I just thought of this idea. I decided to call it "Motif Monday". The Coin edition.
All you have to do is post your favorite Motif or design of your choice that appeals to you. Of course, we are talking about Lady liberty here and all her different designs on Coins specifically. :)
I chose two designs that are my favorite. The "Draped Bust" LC and the "Walking Liberty Half Dollar" of both are in my collection. Also, post why you made your choice. :snaphappy:
I chose the draped bust because of her beauty and that hair. ;) I also chose The Walking Liberty design on the Half dollar as my second favorite also because of her beauty and her gracefulness.
Here are my coins (A little help with the ID of this dug 1803 LC?).....

I don't know if anyone has noticed but I tend to like Seated Liberty. In particular, I like the refined design of Ms Liberty as potrayed on the Half Dollar. Experts call this the Sully inspired Liberty, I refer to her as the Julia Roberts version. Here is my most recent post on MYCOLLECT. James

Funny enough: I'm actually considering buying one of those flowing hair medals. Closest I'll get to an actual flowing hair coin for a little bit lol

I'm a huge sucker for Morgans and Capped Bust half dollars, but Barber designed coinage, flying eagle cents and shield nickels have been amongst my favorite buys. Hoping to score one of the flowing hair commemoratives soon 1921 Morgan.jpg 35.jpg 47.jpg 59.jpg 46.jpg

I know he's weird and everyone has his own opinion of him: but that's probably why I lowkey like Carr lol. I'm weird too. I like the way the eagle and wreath of his 1793 looks in comparison to the 2024 medal, but the face on the obverse of the 2024 is the most pronounced.

I like the Peace design, especially in high grade.

Too hard to choose but a special year for me is 1849 as I'm in California and it's a gold rush year, so that's what I'll go with! thumbupp.gif
