The 1810 cent has been called one of the dullest years in the Classic cent group. The reason is that there are not huge differences between the varieties. There is an overdate variety which is rated R-1. This is the third most common date among the Classic Head cents. The 1812 and 1814 are the most common dates. Sheldon # 285, R-3. Specialists note this variety for its coarse, broad dentils around the edge of the obverse. This was one of my less than stellar purchases. I was taken by the light brown color which caused me to mess the three corrosion spots on the reverse. As Dr. Sheldon noted sometimes the desire to fill a hole overrides good judgement.
Thanks for pointing out those spots and the Sheldon quote. I think most of us have been in that position!
