Hello everyone, First of all, I want to let y'all know that I haven't Metal Detected since Labor Day because of a serious sore back I have been dealing with. It's almost healed so I'm hoping to detect next weekend. I went to my local cashier in midtown Manhattan and found in the Coinstar reject tray an elongated Cent. A first time find for one of these. I have several that I've metal detected over the years.. It's a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Fun find! Post any elongated coins you have collected over the years
That was a cool museum. My father took us there when I was 6 or 7. I believe it was just called the Museum of Natural History back then.
Nice. When I was young, I loved going to the Museum of Natural History here in NYC with my family and school trips. My favorite section was the Rocks and Crystals. It fascinated me so much that I started to collect them. They updated the wing a few years ago and I was able to take my daughter. She started to collect crystals also. (Aesthetically only)
AS a fellow bad back participant. I wish you quick healing. I enjoy reading your metal detecting threads.
Elongated Cent - Monterey, California Coinstar find in 2018 The coin is recent zinc model as it weighs 2.5 grams and was probably sold at Monterey's Cannery Row tourist area.
