I'm looking at this 1909 s VDB

    I think you need to learn a bit more about coins and Lincoln cents in general before going after an S-VDB. I can't tell if the first one is authentic or not, but I would lean toward not. The second one is very obviously damaged and comes from a seller with a terrible reputation.

    With a coin like this, especially, you want to look at a lot of coins (in person!) before you even think of buying one. Learn to authenticate key dates. Learn what fakes look like. Develop your eye.

    I don't mean for any of this to sound condescending, but unless you put in a little effort learning, you'll likely end up regretting your early numismatic purchases.
