This one needs Todd's (@blu62vette) camera! Good thing Long Beach is coming up Think I'll try to polish this slab up. Usually doesn't work with NGC slabs but I heard dremel buffing them can produce good results. Might have to try it. Very unusual toner. I like her!
Today I went from owning zero Standing Liberty quarters to five... All San Francisco minted. (seller photos)
My wife got me this for Christmas (yeah, I know, late with the picture). My camera is on the fritz, so I took the pic with my phone. Sorry for the bad quality. So here it is, 1831 Capped Bust Half Dime for my type set.
Purchased today at the LCS. My first gold of any sort. Since I received a cent in the mail at about the same time, I don't know which is my newest acquisition.
I don't see anything unusual with the mint mark, except it does look a bit squashed. Of course I don't know what I'm looking for, either. There is no sign of the overpunched date variety, either.
I probably paid more than I should have for this Cent. Something said that I needed it for further evaluation. Indians head cents have allways eluded me. Cant tell if it is an improperly mixed alloy or, a bad attempt at whizzing. I had to play with a few verdigris spots also.
I went to my LCS this morning to stock up on a few Canadian maples and also left with this 1848 cent. I don't collect large cents, but it caught my eye for some reason. I guess I may as well start now... It's a slippery slope
