I had asked about the VDB witch I did not see one the reverse. Here's the response I got. Just wondering what your opinions might be. Thank you for you time.

"Looking at the coin in hand, it appears to a broken VDB due to a die crack right along the rim. Very odd, as I haven’t seen that before. Wish I could explain more, but as I said it appears to be very unique"[IMG][IMG].

I'm more concerned about the dark spot around the mintmark. It makes me think that it might have been soldered in place.

That's the first thing I notice...your better off getting one of these already graded by one of the top third party grading outfits (ANACS, NGC or PCGS)

There seems to be some sort of tooling around the mint mark which gives me real pause. If it was wear it would go over the "S" and not around and under. I have run from much cheaper coins for less. If I have to convince myself a coin is "legit," I already know in my heart that it's not.

    It's simple to me.
    It's a highly faked coin.
    No authentication; no interest.

I don't see anything that says it is fake, but there is a lot I cannot see clear enough to authenticate. The MM appears to be in the right place and shape. I am pretty sure it has been cleaned which greatly diminishes the value.

[IMG][IMG]sorry never done pics before, I found this in a roll the other day it does not mean a whole lot to me. And you can clearly see the VDB on back.

What's going on with the top of the mintmark? If it's not certified by one of the major services, I wouldn't buy it.

That one is authentic, but that company is noted for cracking problem coins and selling them as problem free.

Seriously, look into a certified coin. I realize they are more expensive, but that is because they are real and (if graded) problem free.
