I'm trying to identify this coin:https://www.facebook.com/7174911717...7491171748030/717495805080900/?type=3&theater. I've had it for a few years, picked it up in a junk box but still to figure out where its from. Any Ideas? Had to upload the pics to facebook until I figure out how to do it here. Stephen
My guess is it's a medieval French coin of some sort. You might do better in the Ancients forum getting a more specific ID on it.
Open this thread, then click on "Upload a File" at the bottom. Select the images you want to load, and be sure to click on "Full Image" rather than "Thumbnail". Chris
Chris, I tried the uploading a file, then it goes to a box to chose the file and I do, then nothing. so I'm doing something wrong or its because I'm using an IOS system
Stephen, It's definately looks like a medieval coin, as Paul M suggested, try posting it in the Ancients forum. Many of those members are into medievals and will more than likely help. I would also make the recommendation to include the diameter and weight if possible. Hope this helps!
