1901 2 shilling Florin

    I'm no expert on these, but I know I'd be happy getting any silver coin from the bank :D That one however is pretty cool, I don't think i've seen one like that before.

    How on earth did you get that at a bank? Are banks now selling demonetised UK coins? If so please let me know how I can buy/bid for the coins and years that are missing from my collection!

    I was cashing in some change at my credit union, and the couple ahead of me had 3 coins rejected twice. I asked if I could look at them. 2 1941 halves, and one I didn't recognize but knew it was silver. Told them a pawnshop might give them $30 for melt value, I offered $20 on the spot. They accepted. The halves are junk silver, but the 2 shilling is pretty special

    Amazing for a circulation find!

    I once had a 1901 British type set. Here is the florin from that. It was NGC MS65 and attractively toned.

    But I didn't get it from the bank. ;)
