Since I started collecting coins/paper money my wife became interested and started bringing me her change and things. She asked me if this was an error. I don't know much but I thought it might be a double die(I was looking at the 6 in date). It's beat to crap but finding my first error would be cool. I don't know a whole lot yet and spotting mint errors seems pretty hard so any thoughts are appreciated! These are the best pictures I could get.
Sorry but it's just wear and tear. Keep looking, there are lots of interesting errors out there. Most aren't worth much, but the more you look, the more you learn and that's what I love about it.
As @paddyman98 might say, the correct term is "doubled die", not "double die". Sorry, this is not a doubled die. The "6" was probably mashed a bit in circulation. Chris
Ah, I see. So how can I tell if it's a doubled die vs the coin I have particularly when it is heavily circulated? I have been trying to read up on it but spotting one has proved to be quite difficult.
