Missing clad or pmd?

    I've also had this quarter for quite some time... Can anyone give me some insight as to what this is? I really appreciate the help. These are the best I could get for pictures at different angles.

    I'm going to take a wild guess and say that the coin took a hit on the rim which caused a piece of the clad layer to break away...........PMD

    Better pictures would help but I thing the planchet was defective and part of the clad layer was missing. The beveled edge bothers me, the weaker letters seems to indicateit lost the cladding post strike, but the smooth curve of the clad layer that remains doesn't show that the cladding was torn off as PSD would do.

    It's a form of pre-strike damage most closely related to a rim burr.
