Updating a VAM or is this new?

The closest I could find to a matching vam for this '01-O is VAM-35, which really has next to no information regarding it. There's a whopping two pictures on vamworld and they were both taken with a potato, either on the planet Mercury or inside of a floodlight.

From the vague reverse description of "doubled reverse legend (?)" reverse C4f- slightly doubled legend letters at top and bottom inside towards rim ... I have something either in a very different die state (doubtful because of a slightly different date position) or I'm simply wrong again. But I'm not seeing anything else for this mintage regarding doubling on the reverse as severe as this. And I'm saying "doubling" but it's much more than that in some places, at least by my eyes.

I know there aren't many VAMmers on here, but if you have a hint here, I could definitely use one! I'll have more [sensible] pictures to post this weekend when I have more time to get them done, but this is just some of the stuff I've found so far. And I'll edit this to add full coin pics from my phone because my scope stinks for that through a slab. Thanks!

That raised line opposite Liberty's lips must be a marker of sorts? Pictures are quite excellent my friend. :)

I see some doubling on several of the letters. She's got clashed lips, and what the blazes is that spike in front Liberty's mouth? I've not seen something like that before. Toning always makes VAM ID 10 times harder for me than a blaze white coin. I'll look, but seems to me that mint for 1901 has a lot of varities, making it even more tedious.

I can't tell if that's a raised line or some kind gouge? I briefly cruised through VAM world for a few minutes and don't see the pick up points listed for the coin above. Discovery Deux?

This coin has some unfortunate scratches, scuffs, and/or gouges which I suppose should be expected on a MS63 coin, and the old holder has a few, too, but this coin is absolutely loaded with die polishing lines and die scratches. I just got a few better images but still need to load them onto the laptop before I can post them.

The abysmal lack of information on VAM-35 really doesn't help much, but I'm fairly sure this date position is normal and slanted, which none of the VAMs I saw show or mention any of the doubling / tripling or polishing lines. Stay tuned, more pics will be here today!

Now I've found this mostly matches VAM-63 but the date position is still off a bit according to the pics on vamworld. The vamworld coin is right at 2.5 but mine is slightly more to the right. The polishing lines inside and just outside the ear seem to generally match up and the current reverse pics look like they're showing similar polishing lines even though they aren't mentioned or pointed out. I just can't believe there's no mention of the strong doubling / tripling of the "ONE DOLLAR" because that absolutely stands out as a big pickup.

From what I see it looks like a 2-olive reverse. Have you looked at VAM 33? :pompous:
    I'll keep looking :)

Maybe VAM 38? Have a look thru all the 2 Olve Reverse. If in fact it has a 2 olive reverse, I could be seeing things :(

I thought the same thing about the 2 olive reverse, but there's 5 or 6 with the same PUP. From these pics hard to tell. Needs more focus on that part of the coin. There's definitely some doubling of letters going on.

Alrighty, here's another batch of pictures. I think these ones show a bit more detail, albeit through some light reflection from the slab. They do seem to generally match up on some of the listed pups for vam63, but there's more going on in both my coin as well as the one(s) shown on vamworld. Those pictures aren't very clear so zooming in to try to find these markers is a bit tougher than usual. And my coin has a little marker at the very top of the "O" mm.

Yeah, that looks like a double berry. That only partially narrows down things.
