1878 MORGAN CC MS64

  1. Just picked this up for a great price and wanted to share it here for views and comments.

It is certainly a longshot, but I was curious about and VAM variations:

1878-CC VAM 6 Doubled Leaves and Ear. CC Mintmark Almost Touches Wreath
    1878-CC VAM 11 Lines on Eagle’s Wing
1878-CC VAM 24/24A Doubled Leaves No Ear Doubling

    Thanks all.

I though it's been stamped out by D.A.M. (Mothers Against Dyslexia?)

  9. Oh yeah, small typo. Thanks for being mature about it though!

1st very very nice pickup. I'd jump in on the vam but to be honest I haven't even figured out the vam for my 78cc yet.. what can I say I'm lazy :D

Best we can do around here is pretending to be mature. ;)

The NGC images are below and may help VAM it. Not my area of expertise by a long shot. But a really nice coin. Cal

That is a MUCH better photo! Solid pickup! Congrats! Nice. VAM? They make my head hurt. If it's not obvious and I'm curious enough, I'll send to VSS unless it's raw and want it graded. They will label the reverse of a coin already slabbed.

Mature? We can't have a little fun without you taking things the wrong way? I think a thicker skin was mentioned earlier. It wasn't really needed. Just to take things in the spirit intended and have a laugh or two. If one gets their knickers up in a bunch on such a trivial matter then one is taking himself a tad too serious....

  18. I think my dry British humour has gone over your head a little bit haha. No hard feelings at all. Thought it was quite entertaining that a typo caused all this.
Any comments on the coin or...? lol
