This was one of those coins i just had to have. My poker face wasnt on when ascertaining a price from the dealer. So i may have overpaid.:sour:

The cheek worn flat like that is a bag mark? I guess 5c
PCGS Mistakes aren't very rare anymore, I hope you didn't pay more than the cost of it being slabbed.

Yea, idk whats worse- the dealer who sent this in to be graded or the guy who purchased after grading. Its literally worth about $.10 cents, and it was obviously sent in on account of the purdy colors. Its a pop-1 and probably the lowest graded cent from that year @ pcgs.

It is very pretty, and if someone collected a set of coins that nice it would be an awesome set. In 1000 years if it survives, it may be the only coin in that state. It only takes one nuclear war to destroy a LOT of coins.

Trust me, you overpaid. I don't even need to know what the price was.

1 of 139,598,404 minted so I'll say its value in 64 BROWN is $6 & you paid $25

I like these guess the sale price games. I'll sometimes post a guess final price while the auction is still running. Makes it a little more fun and interesting. Also a good way to learn the market. You get others opinions before and after it sells.

Anyway, I'll guess you paid $11.

Question is there a die crack from the maple leaf branch down to the top of the 1?

The toning makes it definitely worth more than the $6 guide value (now if it was just a plain ungraded bn example out of a set with no toning, then $6 would be too high).

No, you misunderstand. If you bought ANY primarily copper coin for its color, you paid too much by definition. Why? Because its color is fleeting and ephemeral.

I still have original rolls of the 1961 cents (all red) that I would gladly part with for $3 per roll, so I hope you did not invest your life savings in that one.
