Does anyone actively use DigiCam Control to tether and shoot? I used it with my D60 but recently it stopped working properly. I replaced the cable, tried a different computer, as even used the failure to upgrade my camera to a D90 which supports live views via tether. No luck. Anyone else having this issue?
For anyone else interested, I tried a different tethering software this evening and everything works. I think there must be an issue with DigiCam and my setup somewhere. Unfortunately, after the camera battery charged all afternoon, I got off too test shots before the laptop battery died... I can't win.
Well, if it worked before and now it doesn't, I'm thinking it more likely an operating system update broke it rather than something the manufacturer did. Especially if you're running Windows 10. I'd never heard of that; downloaded it the moment I looked it up, to give it a try.
Like I said, I'm sure it's something on my end - like you said, it worked and now it doesn't. I'm using Helicon Remote at the moment (free version) and it is working pretty well. I know there is a $75 paid version, but I'm not sure what extras I would get for that money.
I use digicam control and have submitted a couple patches. I'm apparently the only one using the command line version in my scripts. So it took a bit to make it work. I've been too busy with other projects (work, firewall) to do much coin the last six weekends. Best is to head over to their forum. More relevant eyes. Dukus - the original author is very responsive.
