I noticed the RPM on the obverse and then saw faint and considerable doubled reverse.
    Thoughts?

an RPM is not possible on a 2002 as the process that caused them unded in 1990. the reverse is due to worn dies.

Thank you. Does it have an error/variety name if not RPM?
If not a "repunched" then a "doubled" mintmark in the new process?

It's not an error or a variety, it's just a well worn nickel minted with very worn dies. Spend it.

Yes, it is possible to have hub doubling on a mintmark, but in this case, like Rick said, yours is the result of die deterioration.

Thanks everyone. I am using forums and 2 book references so to me it looks like examples of RPM but I appreciate the fact I can post it and it is either confirmed or busted. I don't know how to tell them apart so... :)

I have an 2002 P Jefferson Nickel RPM! Same error. I'm thinking Double Die because of the Sheriff's i could be wrong
