Hello everyone. I came across this penny and it has a long cud, maybe? Can you please tell me what you think and if it's worth anything? Thank you, I appreciate you.
Kim, that's not a rim cud. As the description implies, a rim cud is located on the rim. It does appear to be a die crack though. A pretty wide crack too. Can you determine if the area in question is raised, or incused? If raised, I'd say it's a die crack.
Definitely a Linear Plating Blister. Not a die crack @masterswimmer Plating Blisters It is a neat minor error, I say no premium for that issue. You didn't strike it rich this time
You are welcome. Please create your future threads in the Error Coins section of CoinTalk. Not the What's it Worth section. Most minor errors have very little or no premium at all. It is more important to learn about what you may have. Value is the last thing you should be concerned about
Seems like this is as good a place for these as the error forum, since the motivation for posting for many/most of these "error" coins is "what's it worth." I'd say someone would give you a couple bucks for this one since it's pretty extreme and the plating bubble pops up again down at the date.
That’s the best plating blister I have seen in a long time. Not worth much but it’s a neat one that I’d add to my collection.
They thought maybe they had struck it rich without knowing what the true issue actually was For many years I have noticed that newbies use the What's It Worth section for the same reason. Error Coins would be better IMHO. Have a nice night.
The OP has been here for many years and ask a simple question. Most of the new folks that come here have one question, What's It Worth and they leave once they have a value. I'm ok with that and they got what they wanted.
