A very weird elongated cent.

I was at Schimpff's confectionery in Jeffersonville, Indiana - about 35 miles from me. Personally I don't go for the candy but the place does seem quite cool. Most times I get some 'souvenir cents' but today was....
.....different.

Not sure if you see it but it's a 2021 with the ends of a Schimpff's design and 'ES' in a "City of Jeffersonville" cent. I knew something was up when the cycle was shorter; this coin is a cross between the 2 below.


It's probably not worth much extra, but the sheer weirdness is crazy. That might be a keeper. Better than the wheat cent I was thinking of elongating, but then again something like this would only happen on a coin worth one cent otherwise.

Whew, that took a little bit to type. Imma head out now.

What's a Redhot?

 

A Redhot is one of their most famous hard candies. They had an entire table full of them today. I'm unsure what flavor it is (edit: now I do)

Just looked it up and it's cinnamon flavored. Google also said they produce about 20,000 pounds a year of them.

I take it you've been there. Your profile says you're from Western Kentucky, so if you've been to Schimpff's, that's pretty cool!

Funny thing is, I've never tried one of their Red hots, even though I've been there multiple times. I mainly go for the elongated cents like the ones above.
