In the 1960's I collected world coins and owned the book A Catalog of Modern World Coins by R. S. Yeoman, seventh edition, published in 1967.

There was a island country in the book named Mauritius and from a coin dealer's foreign coin "junk bin" I acquired a Mauritius 20 cent coin dated 1886.

Mauritius is an island in the Indian Ocean.
It had been a British possession for a long time and is now independent.

My only coin from here. I picked up a while back just because of the Dodo bird.
