That's right I'm about to ship 3 big boys and several other icg morgans for "regrading" there is no actual "crossover" from icg to ngc.. what that means is NGC gets the ICG coin with a release to remove them from their holders... they are then graded as Raw coins. So it's and all or nothing thing.. These coins could come back with higher or lower grades and with or without their PL designations but they won't make an guarantee on grade or designations prior to removing them from the slabs...

I have faith in the grades ICG gave these 2 particular coins as well as the ANACs coin (which i consider undergraded)

Note too that you can see reflections of me taking the pic on all 3 coins from at least 2ft away I don't doubt the PL status of any of these coins but to lose it... Ouchies..
getting the paperwork and package together tomorrow but may have to wait till Fri/Sat to ship (though the accompaning coin should arrive tomorrow i have little faith in USPS)

Anyhoo I'll update this as the package comes together but these 3 are 100% going...

YOU said, "boys". You meant "girls". No. Say yes please, my wife is nearby. She hits..... :inpain:
No, just joking. Right Dear? :)
Where's the pink hue coming off those coins from?
Other than that, beautiful examples. :)

Best of luck! Crossovers are nerve wrecking -- especially if NGC cracks 'em and grades 'em raw.

I don't get it, how can a AU-58 be considered Proof Like? (If that what PL denotes)

I have had good luck going both ways.
Sending ICG and ANACS straight to auction or having them cracked out and graded.
Sometimes on high value coins, I feel they will do better in PCGS or NGC holders.
I don't care much about the holder with coins that are staying in my collection. If I'm looking to sell the coin, I may spend the money to have them cracked out.

The PL (proof-like) suffix refers to reflective, proof-like surfaces; not necessarily that the coin is pristine and perfect like most proof coins. I believe the PL suffix is certainly rarer on non-MS coins, but as seen in OP's pics, it does happen.

Two coolest PL coins I've seen are an MS Mercury dime and an MS Columbian commemorative half.
