I know many have written off the mint and I've really cut back on acquiring mint products myself but is anyone in for a new laser engraved ASE tomorrow with the laser privy? Wondering if the quality will actually be any better or if this is a gimmick. Made from laser engraved dies. I don't know how they were made before but maybe they'll always be laser engraved now? 100k mintage and product limit. Some went to the ANA to be sold. Bulk purchaser program got some so I think there will be around 85k left when they go on sale at noon EST tomorrow. Household order limit of 1. It's not an extremely rare mintage but these days I think 100k is still low end to where not everybody who wants one will get one. Especially for an ASE release. Today I was thinking to myself " I wonder how much the mint can charge for a proof ASE before people stop buying them?" What will be considered too high and they don't sell? These will be $105. They've gradually been increasing the heat and price continually goes up every year. Apparently $105 won't be a barrier yet. The pre-sale flippers are already out in force selling examples of these in PF70 that they don't yet have. Prices are $330 to $400 for 70s so far. OGP $245 to $275. Again, I just want one but looks like will be in line with the flippers again, all working hard and fighting each other to maybe scratch out an extra $100 when its all said and done. I guess we can complain but the mints not capitalizing as much as they could on these given the aftermarket sales once again.
I'm a sucker for a unique privy mark and have kept up with all of the other related (insanely overpriced) US mint ASE offerings. Hoping to get my hands on one tomorrow; and the Navy and Marines ones later this year. So far I've got the 2020 v75, '24 star, '25 eagle, and '25 Army privy marks.
Got an e-mail announcing the sale, but when I went to the site my estimated wait time was 59 minutes. Interesting product but............nah, an ASE is an ASE by any other method is still an ASE.
In line since ~10 minutes before release. Showing me ~13 minutes left in queue. Have a sinking feeling bots and scalpers will buy 'em all by then...
Just placed my order! Haven't received confirmation, but at least got the order in. *fingers crossed* good luck to the rest of you trying to grab one.
Snagged One. Right after they let me in I added one to my cart. With that done I proceeded to payment and received a message to log in. When I went to log in it said my log in was invalid. I went back to the cart to check if the item was still there, and sure enough it was. Clicked the payment again and again it wanted me to log in. Again I attempted to and again I got an invalid message. I think to myself, 'check to see if you are indeed logged in. I scroll up to the top of the page and yes, I am logged in. This time I click on the bag icon up top. It takes me right to payment options. Checkout flawlessly. For a few seconds there I thought the site was gonna spit me out. It didn't......
Not for me at this price. Also, my understanding is that the only part of the coin that is laser engraved is the privy mark. From the description: This will be a first-of-its-kind opportunity to purchase a Silver Eagle with the latest technology (laser engraving) used to create master tooling. This coin includes a special laser-engraved privy mark
ASE's and Military Coins/Medals are my downfall. I got mine even though I didn't realize it was today until almost 1:30, went thru the purchase no-fuss no-muss. I do like the idea of them being .999, helps relieve the sticker shock just a little.
Yeah, I went back and checked a few hours ago and the product is/was still available so that everyone who wanted one, got one. any takers on the 2025 American Liberty Silver medal? It goes on sale tomorrow. Of late I've developed a passion (be it otherwise an obsession) for Mint silver medals. Way overpriced but amiable to me, so I bite the bullet and duck when the wife throws the iron at me.......
Oh, I just checked the site. The laser ASE is on backorder.......still available. 100,000 limit with one item per household. I'm sure that restriction will soon be lifted.
