I know many have written off the mint and I've really cut back on acquiring mint products myself but is anyone in for a new laser engraved ASE tomorrow with the laser privy? Wondering if the quality will actually be any better or if this is a gimmick. Made from laser engraved dies. I don't know how they were made before but maybe they'll always be laser engraved now? 100k mintage and product limit. Some went to the ANA to be sold. Bulk purchaser program got some so I think there will be around 85k left when they go on sale at noon EST tomorrow. Household order limit of 1. It's not an extremely rare mintage but these days I think 100k is still low end to where not everybody who wants one will get one. Especially for an ASE release. Today I was thinking to myself " I wonder how much the mint can charge for a proof ASE before people stop buying them?" What will be considered too high and they don't sell? These will be $105. They've gradually been increasing the heat and price continually goes up every year. Apparently $105 won't be a barrier yet. The pre-sale flippers are already out in force selling examples of these in PF70 that they don't yet have. Prices are $330 to $400 for 70s so far. OGP $245 to $275. Again, I just want one but looks like will be in line with the flippers again, all working hard and fighting each other to maybe scratch out an extra $100 when its all said and done. I guess we can complain but the mints not capitalizing as much as they could on these given the aftermarket sales once again.
I'm a sucker for a unique privy mark and have kept up with all of the other related (insanely overpriced) US mint ASE offerings. Hoping to get my hands on one tomorrow; and the Navy and Marines ones later this year. So far I've got the 2020 v75, '24 star, '25 eagle, and '25 Army privy marks.
