I just read over on CU that Ron Landis has passed away. Most of us know him from his work on the Full Step Nickel Club striking of the original Jefferson Nickel design. A few years back, he struck 17 of them in gold. I am the proud owner of number 12.

I have a Gallery Mint silver round from before the Gallery Mint was a going concern. Landis and Rust at one time were striking crude silver rounds for renaissance festivals in the late 1980s. The edges were filed down to remove burrs and sharp edges. The theme about what you'd expect for a renaissance festival. Mine from Kansas City. Weighed a little over an ounce. I've got it somewhere, but like so much other exonumia I'd be hard pressed to find the thing.
