Hello everyone, I have to explain the interesting story of how these finds occurred.. On my lunch break today, I decided to take a trip to my local Home Depot to get a few items. Since the cashier I regularly visit is on the way there, I always stop in to check the Coinstar reject tray. I found several Euro coins from France, a few pennies and a 1919 Wheat Cent The 1919 Wheat Cent was in good shape and I put it away to keep. Then a few hours later when I was done for the day at work, I had to go back to the same cashier to cash a check I had received for some side work I had done for a company. I walked into the cashier and checked the Coinstar once again. I was surprised when I found another 1919 Wheat Cent! I could not believe it. What a coincidence to have found a Cent with the same date both on the same day several hours apart I just wanted to share this intriguing story with y'all
Nice finds. Back in the late 40's and into the 50's, if you saw an older looking wheat cent odds were that it would be a 1919. They seem to have dominated the population. I wouldn't expect it today unless someone got into grandpas coins.
