The newest edition to my well circulated bust quarter collection arrived recently! It's an 1825/4/2, B-3, R.3, and graded as G04 by NGC. Now all I need is an 1822 and an 1828 to consider my large sized bust quarter collection tentatively complete... the 1824 is too pricy for me at the moment and I doubt I'll ever own an 1823 or 1827 unless I win the lottery!

I'm about to show my ignorance on mint errors lol. The coin exibits what looks like cracking near the letters running nearly all the way around on the reverse as pictured also a bit on the obverse. Plus what I assumed is clash marks near liberty's lips and above the eagles wing on the left side.

So all that being said....I'm not sure how to answer your question, I'm very new to all this.

Have a look at the VAMworld page for the variety to see where to look for these features showing themselves best - for your coin, on the clashed "t" in the hair vee above the second right star. It's so strongly clashed on your coin that you can see it clearly in your full-face image. :)

Went to my local coin show today. Had a great time. Didn't buy a whole lot but I'm happy with what I got. Picked up a pocket piece, this will go with my kangaroo penny. Then some junk silver picks. The Barber had such nice coloring (even though I'm not sure how natural it is). Then a 30 S Standing Liberty and the pick of the day was the 1918 Standing Liberty. I'm like 90% sure that's what date it is.

There are a few major issues with the coin but I knew that when I bought it and it was priced appropriately. I liked picking up the 1829 over 1827 variety. It would never grade but I never slab my coins anyways.

Here are some of what I picked up today. First a '24 Buffalo that looks like a die break or delamination (posted in another thread) Second is a couple of Hard times tokens. I'm new to this site so please let me know if I'm doing it wrong. 24buff.jpg A013 - 20170128_204027.jpg ano.jpg anr.jpg noco.jpg

    Interesting design. Tree of Life?

Now, will the missus wear it? My wife likes jewelry and feigns an interest in coins. But she's not interested in wearing it. I tried a couple of times, including this stickpin.

Nice pin! Oh yeah, she'll wear it. Morgans are her favorite.

When I sold vintage video games last year, I had some extra money to play with after getting some house maintenance taken care of. I was just browsing Civitas new listings & saw this listed for an excellent price.

I didn't think too hard on it. I could have easily settled on a 1/2 Real or 1 Real on ebat, but this is a 2 Reales, much scarcer than the lower denominations.

A silver of coin of Ferdinand & Isabella has been in my top 5 wants for years now. I'm finally happy to scratch it off.

This coin should fit in this thread considering they financed the "discovery" of the new world!

So I don't have any pictures yet, but a link.

This all started at a government surplus auction. I picked up a 70% complete set of Roosevelt dimes in PCGS holders back in early December. Well, I got a SCREAMING deal on them, and decided to go ahead and complete the set since they are pretty affordable as high end collections go.

After completing the set with some modest purchases, I've now got the 35th ranked basic set of 1946-1964 Roosevelt Dimes in Business Strike. Actually there's a tie for 35th place between at least 3 of us. But who knows, maybe I will continue to better the set.

Anyhow, it was very affordable for a "Top 100" set - certainly less than my Peace Dollar collection!

It was fun picking out matching coins, and I'm into the set for well under $700 in total, since most were at auction for $300.

The Roosevelt dime set is an easy set to complete in above average grades. As you stated Brett easy also on the wallet also. I've been working on a toned raw unc. Set. That for the most part is complete from 46 to 64 ,I say most part complete as I am always up grading more eye appealing toned coins.
This is a series I recommend to YN'S as it's do able for those with a limited budget. Plus keeps their interests as again for all the reasons above.
There was a seller on e bay awhile back who some how got their hands on a hoard of 49 S coins. They had them all graded and scored from 63 and up. I wish I had purchased one of the higher grades as he had them priced to sell.
Personally I am more interested in 46 to 64 coins however I've been thinking about including just the proofs coins as again I have found some killer proofs at bargain prices .

Just wanted to see if any of those 49 s coins were still on the bay.....couldn't find the seller I was looking for , however found this piece of eye candy to share. Not my coin but can understand the sellers asking price. Graded 67+ s-l400-17.jpg s-l400-14.jpg
