What have people had more luck with in roll searching? I'm not bulk ordering. I'm just circulating $20. So far I've gone through six rolls of quarters and found a proof silver Colorado State Quarter. That's it so far. I'm mainly looking for older/silver coins or major varieties. Do you all think I would better luck picking through quarter rolls or dime rolls? I'm either looking through two rolls of quarters at a tie or four rolls of dimes.
dimes, but you will have better luck with a $250 box. I have not searched for silver dimes in a while, but when I did I would usually get 1-2 a box.
quarters for sure is where I get my silver. quarters have far more errors/varieties. $20 isn't going to cut it. you need a box at a time. I go through at least 6 boxes a week myself.
My last four boxes were dimes and there were 13 silvers-including one Mercury dime. I have only gotten one box of quarters before (skunk) so I'm not sure what the odds are for those.
its hit or miss like anything else. opened a box of nickels once and got 2 1883's 12-15 silver, 7-8 buffs. it's like xmas everyday. you unwrap your present and hope you like it.
I actually get $1000 bags from my CC. the public dumps it in, and I take it out. this might give me a little advantage. got 6 quarters in one bag once. do I find a decent amount of silver? YES! but... I spend about 20-25 hours a week searching. I don't have to unwrap so I pour and look.
