I haven’t had time for adding to my collection lately, so I thought I’d share some beautiful albums I bought some years back. I’ve wanted to search them for errors and varieties, but can’t bring myself to break them apart or pluck out a coin and possibly mess up how pretty they look in the albums. Might just keep as is and pass to my children someday. Feel free to share albums you own!
No albums here, unless you're talking about music? I like yours though. I only have one Son and here's not a bit interested. So? Now what??.
Sorry he doesn’t have interest. The way I see it, you have three options: 1. Keep it until you pass and let your son do whatever he wants with the coins. You won’t mind anymore anyway. He’ll likely get much less than they’re worth, but they were yours anyway, so it’s free money to him to do as he pleases with it. 2. You can sell/cash in the coins and use the money for things you enjoy. 3. You can sell/cash in the coins and pass that money on to At the end of the day, they’re yours and something you enjoy. Do what makes you happy. If the coins don’t make your son happy, it’s a bit of a bummer, but it’s okay. What makes one person happy may not interest the next. Do what you like and should the time come, hopefully he’ll do the same.
Fun stuff. These are technically called folders. Albums are thicker and more book-like, with clear slides which allow you to see both sides of the coin.
I have albums or folders for all circulation issue coins of the 20th Century. By set they will include coins from the late 19th Century. Here is one that I started about 1950. I keep wanting to update it but my wife says no. She thinks it tells more about me and my love for the hobby.
I really enjoyed albums and had a blast filling them. That changed when it became time to take the albums apart and put each coin in a separate holder. It was a long process.
My first one from Christmas morning 1959. This was an upgrade for the first folder for the 1909 to 1940 set.
My humble cent folders go back to when I began collecting and are VERY humble. I'll spare everyone....
