I wanted to share a few more additions with you all. I've almost got as many coins the month than I did all of 2016 and feel a bit indulgent This first is a a FTR galley type of Constans. A little worn but with excellent style. Constans AE3. 248-250 AD. D N CONSTANS P F AVG, diademed, cuirassed bust right, A behind / FEL TEMP REPARATIO, Constans standing left on galley, holding Victory and labarum, piloted by Victory, A to left, star in right field. Mintmark dot ASIS dot. Siscia RIC VIII 256, A The next, just another FH. I got it cheap. DN CONSTAN-TIVS PF AVG Constantius II pearl-diademed, draped, cuirassed bust right FEL TEMP RE-PARATIO soldier spearing Horseman, bearded, 2 braids, reaching, reaching ALEB in ex. Γ left Alexandria 72 This one of Probus is the most sentimental. A friend of my family had passed away whom had a small collection of ancients, and his wife gave me this one. The silvering made for a difficult time photographing it. PROBUS AE silvered antoninianus. Antioch mint. IMP C M AVR PROBVS AVG, radiate draped bust right. Reverse - CLEMENTIA TEMP, Probus standing left holding eagle-tipped scepter, receiving globe from Jupiter, who stands right holding scepter. A pellet between, XXI in exergue.
3 nice coins RG! here's my favorite fallen horseman.. I have several, but this is the only one I REALLY like...dig the AE2s! my most difficult silvered probus ant to take a pic of... and my weird blue galley fel temp (sorry for pics)...
Nice coins! I need to find an upgrade for my Constantinople FH (and a few others), hope to fond one similar to yours.

Constantius I as Caesar, AD 293-305 Æ Follis, 29mm, 9.6g, 12h; Trier mint, AD 303 Obv.: CONSTANTIVS NOBIL C, laureate and cuirassed bust right / Rev.: GENIO POPV-LI ROMANI, Genius standing left, wearing modius on head, holding patera and cornucopiae; S-F In Ex.: ITR Grandson... Constantius II, AD 337-361 Æ15, 1.5g, 6h; Trier mint, A.D. 337- 340 Obv.: FL IVL CONSTANTIVS AVG; Laureate, cuirassed bust right. Rev.: VIRTVS AVGG NN; Soldier standing holding spear and resting hand on shield In Ex.: TRP Postumus Postumus, Gallic Empire, AD 260-269 AR Antoninianus, 22mm, 3.0g, 6h; Trier mint, AD 260-261. Obv.: IMP C POSTVMVS P F AVG; Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right. Rev.: VICT-ORIA AVG; Victory advancing left, holding palm in left hand and wreath in right hand; captive at feet.
Atta-boy, geki => congrats on those three cool OP-additions I like the first example the most (amazingly, I don't have a galley-example "yet")
Love the posts!! I particularly like Randy's galley type, Chris' fallen horseman and Jwt's Postumus......and the silvered Ant's are way cool too!!!
I have already posted most of my other purchases for this month on other threads except this denarius of Commodus. Not the best example of him as Hercules but one I have wanted for a while.... Commodus, Caesar 172-179, Augustus 179-192 AD. Commodus as Hercules/ A.D. 191-2./ AR Denarius. / Weight - 3.2grams./ Obverse: L. AEL. AVREL. COMM. AVG. P. FEL. Head in lion-skin r./ Reverse: HERCVLI ROMANO AVG. Bow, club and quiver with arrows./ RIC 253,
I totally agree about the nice style on that galley example, Randy. Nice style on Jwt708's grandpa Constantius too. Here's my newest addition (T. Quinctius Flamininus. Denarius circa 126. Helmeted head of Roma r.; behind, apex and before, X. Rev. The Dioscuri galloping r.; below, Macedonian shield between T – Q. In exergue, ROMA). I like the historical connection to T. Quinctius Flamininus sr., who triumphed over Macedon and "saved" Greece: And Mikey gives me an excuse to post my Commodus as Hercules as: That was a huge purchase for me back in the day, from NFA. And it arrived with a filled flan crack (obv. 3:00), totally unmentioned in the description and not apparent in the photo. Grrrr. But I loved it anyway and still do.
Great pickups @randygeki ! This is an area that I am pretty weak in. I have few from the LRB and few Fallen Horseman...
