Please help ID this note

    I'm guessing from Japanese occupation of the Philippines. Thanks for any information.

    This is the second series so the issue date is 1943-45.

    The number 30 is a block number. Blocks started at 1. When the serial number for a block reached 9999999 the block number advanced.

    Very rare in this condition even in average its a tough get !

    Beautiful note. I only have the smaller denomination ones - those are the only ones I can afford, ha!

    Believe it or not i only paid $17.50 for that note :) about two years ago, that note is
    In uncirculated condition so difficult to find.

    Here,s the 1000 peso note not as difficult as the 500 but still a tough get in this condition

    As you can see the 1000 peso note is very small in comparison to the 500

    I wonder why the higher value note is so much smaller...

    The 500 was printed in Japan. The 1000 was an expedient print made in Manila.
