The Madison County Coin Club of Huntsville, Alabama, will once again have Daniel Carr, proprietor of the Moonlight Mint, produce medals for the club. These 2026 medals are octagonal in shape and are 41mm in diameter. The club's 2026 medals offered to the public are: a one troy ounce .999 silver medal with a serial number on the edge, a copper medal, and a copper piedfort. See their web site at: http://mccc.anaclubs.org/ for more details.
I ordered the 4 coin set. For the club's silver jubilee, the club will have four 41mm octagonal medals minted. They are: a copper medal, a one troy ounce .999 silver medal, a copper piedfort, and a two troy ounce .999 silver piedfort. piedfort medals. Piedfort medals are twice as thick and heavy as standard medals of the same diameter The maximum mintages are as follows: Copper: 100 Copper Piedfort: 60 Silver: 50 Silver Piedfort: 35 (available only as part of a 4 medal set)
It is interesting to note that the silver piedfort sold out in a day and a half. The silver medal took longer -- 3 days.
