2023 quarter improperly annealed or environmental?

    I'm guessing this is environmental toning. I'm not a fan of this series so it won't break my heart if that's what it is. But I just thought I'd get on here and ask anyway. Thanks.

    Most likely environmental exposure IMHO

    I agree with Paddy. Had there been any annealing issues with this coin
    it would probably be a well known and sought after error. This coin may have been dug out of the ground. The elements, gases, pollutants react with the metals on the coin to produce this effect.
