I have a 2001 P Sacagewea Silver dollar coin. Could this be an error or just a worn coin. It also weighs 7.7 grams and not the usual 8.1. Thanks

Definitely not a silver coin. Looks worn and toned. Welcome to CT.

It is worn. And not silver.

He posted the same coin and picture on 2 different Facebook pages concerning coin collecting and errors. He's still looking for the answer he wants to hear. But the answer will always be no!

Actually I didn’t, I just started going through my change a few days ago and googled things and this page came up. I don’t post on social media.

They didn't make this coin in silver.
It is true that in the past, coins could have been mistakenly stuck on silver planchets. But in this case it's impossible for that to happen. There aren't any silver Susan B Anthonys, if there were the coin would be 13 sided instead of round. In 2000 and 2001 they didn't make any silver Sacagaweas (proofs, etc.). In 2000 they did make 39 pieces at the West Point mint in 22 karat gold. But I assume all of those are documented and accounted for.
