I have an opportunity to buy this for 150. I think it’s a fair deal. Any red flags for any of you? I didn’t get a pic of the reverse but it’s in better condition. What grade do you think it is? I’m thinking a high grade fine.

VF20 details, cleaned; $150 is an excellent price, putting you between G-6 and VG-8 wholesale bids.

I have to ask some questions. Where are you getting this from and why not the reverse? I wouldn't do it because it's low for this year on the value. How much does it weigh? Trade dollars are highly faked and with lousy pics, no way! Only graded for me, on trade dollars anyways.

OF course, If you want a cleaned trade dollar, I recommend looking elsewhere for cheaper. ;)

One of those generally couldn't be found much cheaper for the condition. VF20 bid is $265, F15 $245; most cleaned trade dollars can achieve that. Obtaining problem-free is just like obtaining a straight-grade Seated dollar - a really hard task.

I would buy that up in no time to try and resell. Just me, of course, but they are a difficult series.

I'm just saying. Offer $125 and see what happens but if you made an oral offer then you're stuck, almost. :)
( BTW: You haven't seen mean until you enter my house and meet my wonderful wife :eek::eek:). Just kidding hun! What? Clean out the dishwasher? Okay. Got to go!).

Good deals can be risky. Something about it doesn’t look right. A number of scratches on it as well.

It doesn't look bad to me. It does have several scratches, but if I was looking to buy one, it is not unpleasant to look at. The price isn't bad either. The prices on Trade dollars just keeps rising.

we didn't agree on any price. I bought about 200 in other coins, and he told me he would take 150 and I told him I would think about it. If I was committed to going to the coin auction I was heading to I would have bought it.

Why aren’t they showing you the reverse? That’s key to such a deal. I’ve seen coins like this with solder on the reverse or the edge.

He said he forgot to take a picture of the reverse. So it’s him not the seller.

It’s my fault i didn’t take a pick i was running late. I’m picking the coin up tomorrow if it weighs correctly and comes in at the correct size. My also pick up a 1819 bust quarter.

The old cleaning doesn't bother me much. The blackish patches on the reverse do, but only a little bit. Overall, not bad.

Yes i know there are scratches that all brings the value down, along with the cleaning but a fine cleaned is still better than a strait grade G/vg. Simetimes 2 cent opinions is worst than no cents. All your coins are problem free. As stated above she ain’t pretty but she can cook. I am considering on dumping it though i already have a nicer 77. I forgot i had it.
